USTA NEW ENGLAND AND VERMONT PRINCIPALS’ ASSOCIATION PARTNER TO ENHANCE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS
WESTBOROUGH, MA - The U.S. Tennis Association of New England is excited to announce a new partnership with the Vermont Principals’ Association (VPA) aimed at enhancing high school tennis across the state.
This collaboration represents a commitment to providing comprehensive resources, tools and educational opportunities to coaches, administrators and student-athletes, ensuring they have the necessary support to succeed on and off the court.
“USTA New England has access to impactful resources to offer high school coaches, and we plan to increase our support to them and their players throughout Vermont. We understand the importance of high school tennis to student-athletes, and we want to be behind the push to grow the game, especially at this level,” said Shawna Fors, Director, Player Development for USTA New England.
The partnership, created in in conjunction with USTA Vermont, comes less than a year after USTA New England signed on with the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association to improve the high school tennis landscape in Massachusetts.
USTA New England will seek to elevate the championship experience for Vermont players, enhance the player journey, explore how to bolster the middle school pathway and create exclusive workshops and webinars for high school coaches. Coaches will also see an increase in networking and scholarship opportunities as well as be provided with the latest and most effective digital tools to supplement their on-court work.
“We are thrilled to partner with USTA New England to support Vermont’s high school tennis players and coaches. This collaboration brings valuable resources that will benefit our teams across the state, enhancing the experience for our student-athletes both on and off the court. With the USTA’s expertise and dedication to youth tennis, we look forward to working together to grow and strengthen high school tennis in Vermont," said Dr. Lauren Young, Assistant Executive Director, Vermont Principals’ Association.
The partnership is also designed to support female coaches in their professional development and will include the creation of an all-women’s coach training and access for one coach to attend the Professional Tennis Registry Women’s Summit.
The VPA and USTA New England share a commitment to promoting good-sport behavior as well as a safe and respectful environment for players and coaches to thrive.
