Chanda Rubin meets with junior Amaya Freeman and family
Former world No. 6 Tennis Channel commentator and Louisiana native Chanda Rubin graciously took time to meet with junior player Amaya Freeman, her family, her coach Olu Akinniyi and Dr. Jim Ewers during the USPTA World Conference, recently held in New Orleans.
The Chanda Rubin Foundation is a private non-profit organization created in 1998 for the purpose of providing a funding source for scholarships for deserving youths, and to offer support to community-based organizations involved in the educational and athletic development of our youth. The foundation, also called Acadiana Serves, is headquartered in Lafayette.
Rubin won seven singles titles on the WTA Tour and reached her career high in April 1996. She was inducted into the Southern Tennis Hall of Fame in 2009. Click here to visit her page on the Southern Tennis Foundation’s Hall of Fame page.
