2019 ADULT 18 & OVER LS, 3.0, 4.0 & 5.0 SECTIONAL RESULTS

Six teams will represent Texas at the USTA National Championships after winning their division at the Adult 18 & Over LS, 3.0, 4.0 & 5.0 Sectional Championship on Sunday, August 11.

 

Ladies Lone Star Champions – Austin

 

Austin finished atop the Lone Star division, winning all four of its overall matches despite Dallas having a higher games won percentage. Fort Worth, San Antonio and Abilene rounded out the five team Lone Star division.

 

"Rosé Rebels are captained by Daniel Rodriguez and play out of Grey Rock Tennis Club. Their roster consists of: Ruth Roberts, Carrie Keith, Laura Stark, Lauren Roberts, Ashley Vicknair Howard, Stacy Eppen, Amanda Hunter, Anna Beattie and Elizabeth Antolak.

Men’s 3.0 Champions – Austin

 

Two teams finished with the same team and individual score in the Men's 3.0 division, but Austin came away with the title thanks to their head-to-head win against San Antonio. The team will now head to the OKC Tennis Center in Oklahoma City for the 18 & Over 3.0 National Championships from October 11-13.

 

"Racquet Warriors" are captained by Stephen Hochstetler and co-captained by Karen Brooks. Their roster includes players: Christopher Coco, Martin Davis, Andrew McIlhaney, Chuck Price, John Moore, Victor Martinez, Daniel McInnis, Shawn Lee, Jason English, Sam Hanna, Jesse Gevirtz, Siddharth Subramanian, Win Smith, Jose Rodriguez, Brian Dolezal, Todd McAlister and Neil Rubenstein.

Ladies 3.0 Champions – Wild Dallas

 

Wild Dallas went 4-0 in flight play before taking down San Antonio 3-2 in the semifinals and winning 3-2 in the finals to Wild NOHO to earn the Ladies 3.5 division crown.. The team will go to the 18 & Over 3.0 National Championships at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona from October 4-6. 

 

"DCC/A. Graham W3.0" play out of Dallas Country Club. Their roster of 23 players includes: Genny Montgomery, Jessica Slaven, Jenna Turner, Claudia Williams, Christine Danuser, Melinda Hammack, Blair Heartfield, Emily Klein, Blair Isom, Alissa Gearing, Heidi Snadon, Lindsey Meyer, Sarah Klein, Katherine Herron, Margaret Cherry Morris, Karen Krumholz, Courtney Harper, Barrett Ball, Megan Filgo, Cile McCormick, Michelle Hunt, Elizabeth Mason and Lillian Richey.

Men’s 4.0 Champions – NOHO

 

NOHO finished atop their flight in the Men's 4.0 division before downing Waco 3-2 in the semifinals and beating Houston 4-1 in the finals to book their trip to Nationals. The team will go to the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas from October 18-20 for the 18 & Over 4.0 National Championships.

 

"Woodlands-Freeman" are captained by Jason Freeman and play out of Sawmill Park in The Woodlands. Their roster boasts 20 players: Sherif Mohamed, Robert Dornbos, Mario Garcia, Alfredo Garcia, Phillip Wills, James Robinson, Timothy Russell, Karel Losada, Tuyen Nguyen, Scott Boarman, Mark Schendel, Joseph Williams, Red Benzon, Hugo Palencia, Derek Taylor, Ivan Muller-Sierra, Luc Thomas, Alex Leighton and Luis Martinez.

Ladies 4.0 Champions – Fort Worth

 

Fort Worth dominated flight play, going 4-0 with an individual score of 19-1, before winning two close match-ups to top the Ladies 4.0 division. Fort Worth beat Wild Houston 3-2 in the semis, then Austin 3-2 in the finals to earn a trip to the 18 & Over 4.0 National Championships at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas from October 18-20.

 

"CHS Murphy/Eade are captained by Tara Murphy, co-captained by Misha Eade and play out of Coppell High School Tennis Center in Coppell. The roster includes: Audrey Wendel, Judy Barbo, Kim Wheeler, Eugenia Viejobueno, Edith Kruckmann, Julie Evans, Lachrista Whatley, Martha Davis, Laura Crain, Julia Odietus, Teresa Ingram, Suzanne Kim, Lisa Johnson, Lachelle Ashworth, Maria Moujan, Jennifer Hill, Misty Scott and Ryoko Suzuki.

Men’s 5.0 Champions – Fort Worth

 

Fort Worth dominated the Men's 5.0 division, going 5-0 and winning 62% of its games in the six-team division. Fort Worth will be Texas' representative at the 18 & Over 5.0+ National Championships from October 4-6 at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas.

 

The team is captained by Jeff Jannasch and play out of Southlake Tennis Center. The team's roster has the following players: Leif Meineke, Caden Moortgat, Mario Toledo, Dawid Kuczer, Daniel Vejman, Kyle Davidson, Cameron Nash, Joseph Hattrup, Zoltan Papp, Peter Saunders, Johann Jooste, Carlos Aguilar and Nick Buoni.

Ladies 5.0 Champions – Dallas

 

Dallas won the Ladies 5.0 division, going undefeated in all four of its matches. The team beat Houston, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin to stamp their tickets to the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas for the 18 & Over 5.0+ National Championships from October 4-6.

 

"ESD/Schiller W5.0+" are captained by Julie Schiller and play out of the Episcopal School of Dallas. Their team of 12 includes: Samantha Travers, Alexandra Khadzhyan, Leeza Morris, Carrie Currier, Sae Iwata, Melanie Finnegan, Mahuiyang Rong, Lindsey Pereira, Macy Vonderchmidt, Franchel Krueger and Rabea Buksik.
