Board of Directors and Management Committee Applications Now Open
Dedicated volunteers and members of the Texas tennis community give their time and experience to helping lead and shape the future of tennis in the Lone Star State.
Applications are now open for two different leadership levels at USTA Texas: as part of the Board of Directors and as part of the USTA Texas Management Committee. The Application period will close on October 31, 2025.
Read below about the requirements and responsibilities for each of these positions:
Management Committee (2 year term, 2027-2028)
The Management Committee are members of the Board of Directors and will have the authority over the day-to-day operations of the Corporation, subject to oversight by the Board of Directors. Members of the Management Committee are required to attend the Texas Annual Meeting in February and the Texas Semi-Annual Meeting in the Summer or Texas Tennis Summit in the Fall, as well as USTA National meetings. There may be additional committees or task forces that a Management Committee member may be asked to participate in by the President, Management, or Board of Directors. The time commitment for Management Committee members will be significantly greater than the time required for the Board of Directors.
Board of Directors (3 year term, 2026-2028)
The Board of Directors is the policy making body of USTA Texas and is the only group that can initiate or make changes to the Bylaws. The Board of Directors is made up of 6 elected directors, two (2) directors appointed by the President, all of the members of the Management Committee who serve as its officers and all Past Presidents of USTA Texas. All members of the Board of Directors are required to attend the USTA Texas Annual Meeting and the USTA Texas Semiannual Meeting (average 4 days per year) plus additional special meetings as needed. There may also be additional committees or task forces that a Board of Directors member may be asked to participate in by the President, Management Committee, or Board of Directors and we would strongly encourage such participation.
