2025 USTA Texas Women's Senior Spirit of Tennis Award
What does receiving this award mean to you?
"I am honored to receive the Sr. Spirit Award. Tennis is my passion and I love giving back in every way. Seeing the joy in the kids faces is priceless. A true reflection of ones dedication is the example they lead by. Tennis should be FUN and in a shared commitment that I see all who play have FUN. My priority is clear in representing our values and building collaborations on and off the court. I encourage all and look forward to continuing the cause for which we all truly believe in." - Becki Wortham
Presented at the 2024 Awards Luncheon at the Omni Las Colinas Hotel in Irving on Saturday, Feb. 10th:
Becki Wortham truly embodies the Senior Spirit of Tennis. Her dedication to the sport shines through her active participation in leagues, tournaments, and more, all while inspiring others with her enthusiasm and attitude. But Becki's contributions extend far beyond the court. With her background in nursing, she promotes a healthy lifestyle and uses her leadership roles to foster an inclusive and supportive tennis community.
Becki's impact is felt locally and nationally. She shares her knowledge and passion through volunteer work with organizations like Special Olympics, Tennis in the Park, and multiple USTA committees. Her dedication to education is evident in her 20 years as a USTA Official, patiently answering rule questions and promoting fair play.
A true champion for tennis, Becki embodies sportsmanship, resourcefulness, and a cooperative spirit, making her an inspiration to all. Her mantra, "Always have fun when you are on the court," perfectly captures her positive impact on the lives of seniors both on and off the court.
