Texas at the 2021 NCAA Championships

The University of Texas women's tennis team won its third National Championship on Saturday, May 22, defeating Pepperdine 4-3. However, UT wasn't the only Texas school to have success at the NCAAs. Here's a recap of the Texas schools and former Texas junior players who made it big at the NCAAs.

DI Men

  • Baylor University made the final, falling to No. 1 overall seed Florida
  • The University of Texas reached the semis and Texas A&M go to the quarterfinals, both losing to champion Florida
  • TCU also made the quarterfinals, losing to Baylor
  • Adrian Boitan of Baylor made it to the semifinals of the Individual Men's Singles tournament while teammates Sven Lah and Constantin Frantzen made the semis in doubles

DI Women

  • The University of Texas won its first DI National title since 1995, with three Texans on its roster: Gabby Cusano of Austin, Simran Kortikere of Longview and Malaika Rapolu of Cedar Park
  • Former Texas junior Fiona Crawley was named to the all-tournament team playing for first overall seed North Carolina
  • Former Texas Junior Jayci Goldsmith of Dripping Springs made the doubles quarterfinals for Texas A&M with teammate Tatiana Makarova
  • Kylie Collins and Lulu Sun of the University of Texas made the final for Individual Women's Doubles 

DII Women

  • St. Mary's University in San Antonio made the quarterfinals with four Texans on the roster: Grace Bell of Harlingen, Abigail Csengery of Humble, Charli Delmonico of Austin and Ashley Penshorn of Montgomery
  • Nikki Boyar of Fair Oaks Ranch and Lexi Penn of Longview made the semis with University of Central Oklahoma

DIII Men

  • Andrew Esses of Houston and Hassan Kenawi of Katy help Emory University win the Division III National Championship, the school's third in four years
  • Chaitanya Aduru of Austin and Neil Mabee of Houston reached the finals with Case Western Reserve University
  • Trinity University in San Antonio made the quarterfinals, boasting six Texans: Wilson Hamilton of Austin, Dalton Locke of Humble, Hao Nguyen of Sugar Land, Jordan Pitts of Austin, Lars Wiik of Katy and Artur Zigman of Houston

DIII Women

  • Katelyn Thomas of Granbury and Christina Watson of Houston won the Division III National Championship with Emory
  • Daniela Alvarez of Austin and Kristina Yu of New Braunfels made the finals with Wesleyan University (Conn.)
  • Christina Watson of Houston made the finals of the Individual Women's Singles and Doubles with Emory
  • Kathy Joseph of The University of Texas at Dallas reached the semifinals in Individual Women's Singles

NJCAA

  • Tyler Junior College won the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship for the third straight year, while the women's team won its 20th title in program history. The men's team featured Texas juniors Jaycer Lyeons of Houston and Alan Magadan of McAllen, while the women's team features Dallas' Jadeh Chan.
