La escuela china Huaxia de Lehigh Valley celebra el tenis
A principios de este mes, tuvimos el placer de unirnos a la Escuela China Huaxia del Club de Tenis Lehigh Valley mientras organizaba su 100 Set Challenge, celebrando el 100 aniversario de la USTA Middle States. El evento tuvo lugar en Parkland High School en Allentown, Pensilvania.
La comunidad escolar fue establecida en 1998 por un grupo de residentes chinos locales que querían transmitir a sus hijos sus tradiciones, idioma y rasgos de carácter. Las clases de aprendizaje cultural se llevan a cabo en Northampton Community College (NCC) con aproximadamente 500 personas inscritas. Se anima a inscribir a personas de todas las edades y orígenes con interés y aprecio por la cultura china.
El Club de Tenis se creó hace cinco años después de que los padres necesitaran algo que hacer mientras sus hijos estaban en clase. Ahora el club ofrece clínicas, partidos y eventos sociales como el 100 Sets Challenge.
