The Junior Tennis Foundation (JTF) was incorporated in 1982 as a non-profit organization to raise funds for junior and adaptive tennis within the USTA Eastern section. Since its inception, the JTF has awarded over $2 million in grants and scholarships to worthy programs and players. These grants and scholarships have afforded many children the opportunity to attend tennis camps, national competitions and educational workshops.
USTA Eastern Hall of Fame
The USTA Eastern Hall of Fame was created in 1988 to honor individuals associated with the section who have dedicated their lives to tennis and to raise funds to support the mission of the JTF. Those nominated for induction have made extraordinary contributions through their work that perpetuate Eastern’s heritage of tennis excellence, preserve its history and support the growth of its tennis enterprise. ADVERTISEMENT Past inductees into the Hall of Fame have included: Arthur Ashe, Don Budge, Mary Carillo, Vitas Gerulaitis, Althea Gibson, John and Patrick McEnroe, Dick Savitt, past USTA President Katrina Adams and former NYC Mayor David Dinkins.
