USTA Eastern Mass. Grants and Programs

 

USTA Eastern Mass. is a division of USTA New England, 1 of 17 regional sections across the country that comprise the United States Tennis Association. 

 

USTANE is committed to promoting and developing the growth of tennis and increasing participation in the sport in New England. USTA EMA supports this by providing workshops and facilitating the distribution of grants which may be used to develop instructional programs and/or organize league play for people of all ages, abilities and populations. Our goal is to help programs become self-sufficient. 

 

The 2023 Grant Cycle is now open! 

 

Before applying for a 2023 USTA EMA grants, please read and understand all grant types, determine your proposed program details and create a detailed budget. Once that is done, please complete the below application and submit to Lance Andersen, lance@luckydogtennis.com. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Grant Categories

 

USTA New England National Championships Stipend

 

To offset expenses for EMA collegiate teams participating in N.E. sectionals, district or national events. $50 food card per eligible player, up to $500 per eligible team.

 

Community Tennis Association (CTA) Grant

 

Up to $1,000 for the creation, expansion or state incorporation of a CTA which will then enlist local tennis enthusiasts and serve as a tennis lobbying force within the community. Once example would be to provide Schools, Parks & Rec and other organizations with startup costs and equipment for new and innovative programs. Letter of recommendation required from USTA New England TSR.

 

Equipment Grants

 

Up to $500 for the purchase of equipment to support Junior Team Tennis or Net Generation Programs. Preference given to applicants who have attended a Net Generation Workshop.

 

Special Population and Adaptive Tennis Grant

 

Up to $1,000 for the creation or expansion of tennis opportunities for beginner and advanced wheelchair athletes, or for the creation or expansion of community tennis opportunities for special populations that include persons with intellectual, emotional and / or developmental challenges.

 

Community Tennis Grant

 

Up to $1,000 to cover coaches, court time, equipment, marketing, advertising, or any other necessary tennis-related expenses for programs that significantly support USTA Eastern MA Core Values. Tournament Directors may also apply for a stipend under this category for reimbursement costs in directing USTA sanctioned or approved programs.

 

Junior Team Tennis Grant

 

Up to $500 per team/age group for coaching, equipment, marketing, etc. for registered USTA Junior Team Tennis Programs.

 

Diversity & Inclusion Grant

 

Up to $1,000 for the creation or expansion of tennis opportunities for underserved players that fall into the following categories: Adaptive, African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic, LGBT, Millennial, Native American, Socio-economic, and / or Wheelchair.
