Flex League Top Ten Tips

You’ve heard that USTA Flex League is the easy, no-pressure tennis league that puts you in control of your tennis match schedule. You’ve read how Mid-Atlantic player Sarah Lawerence fits tennis in her schedule with Flex Leagues. But are you still wondering if flex leagues are a good fit for you? Read these top ten tips on how you can make the most of flex leagues happening in the Mid-Atlantic Section, then hurry and register so you can get out and play!

 

Flex League’s Top Ten Tips

 

Tip #1 - USTA membership is not required to play.


Tip #2 - Save your money! The fee for flex league in the Mid-Atlantic is a flat $25. 

Tip #3 - Explore playing competitively even if you are new or haven’t played tennis in a while. USTA Flex Leagues are a perfect fit for getting a taste of competition without pressure.   

 

Tip #4 - Don’t worry about your USTA NTRP rating. Flex League results are not calculated into your end of year rating.

 

Tip #5 - Break out of your comfort zone and try something different! Flex League is a great opportunity to try doubles if you’re a singles player or vice versa. Flex league provides the perfect opportunity to try out different playing formats.

 

Tip #6 - Be flexible when scheduling your matches. Work with your opponent to find a date, time, and location that works for each of you.

 

Tip #7 - Remember, you can play your matches in any order that fits your schedule. Just be sure to play all of your matches by the end of the season.

 

Tip #8 - Do follow the USTA Mid-Atlantic Return to Play guidelines to help keep everyone safe while on court.

 

Tip #9 - Don’t forget to input your scores into TennisLink after you play.
