Participation in the Midwest Sectional Qualifier:

Each district in the USTA/Midwest Section will be provided a minimum of two (2) spots per NTRP level in the Midwest Sectional Qualifier.  Your local district office has developed a selection process for endorsement into the Midwest Sectional Qualifier. Find your district office here.

Endorsement Information

What is endorsement? Endorsement is a means or process of being selected into the National NTRP Championships. The USTA Midwest Section has an allotted number of spots available to Midwest players into the NTRP National Championship. The allotment is known as the “quota”. Midwest’s quota is 2 players in each singles division and 2 two-person teams in each doubles division.

Divisions are men’s and women’s 18 and over singles and doubles 3.0,3.5,4.0,4.5, 5.0 and men’s and women’s 40 and over singles and doubles 3.0,3.5,4.0,4.5 and 55 and over 3.0,3.5,4.0,4.5 singles and doubles.

Endorsement Procedures

To be endorsed to play in the 2022 NTRP National Championships, the requirements are as follows:

1. Respective winners and finalists of the USTA/Midwest Section 18 & Over NTRP Championships will receive the two quota spots in the Adult 18 & Over 3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5/5.0 Singles and Doubles Division.
2. Respective winners and finalists of the USTA/Midwest Section 40 & Over NTRP Championships will receive the two quota spots in the Adult 40 & Over 3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5 Singles and Doubles Division.
3. Respective winners and finalists of the USTA/Midwest Section 55 & Over NTRP Championships will receive the two quota spots in the Adult 55 & Over 3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5 Singles and Doubles Division.

Alternates

If an endorsed quota player cannot play the National Championships, alternates will be chosen on the following basis:

1. If the respective winner or finalist of the USTA/Midwest Section NTRP Championship tournament cannot go, the 3rd place and then the 4th place player or team will be endorsed with a quota spot. If none of these players can go, the eligible players will be chosen randomly starting with quarterfinalists.
2. Everyone that played in the USTA/Midwest Section NTRP Championships may sign up for the National Championship and will be endorsed if there are open spots.

Player's Responsibility in National Events

When you accept entry to the National NTRP Championships, it is your responsibility to appear. If you decide to withdraw before the entry deadline, please withdraw from the tournament online and inform the USTA Midwest office immediately so that another player can be added to the in-quota list. If it is necessary for you to withdraw from a tournament after the entry deadline, please notify the tournament director and USTA Midwest office immediately.
