Roeth Named 2023 Iowa USPTA Pro of the Year
Dubuque native Ryan Roeth has been teaching tennis for more than half his life. He’s worked at various tennis clubs in Iowa and Illinois and is currently the tennis director at Genesis Health Club in Des Moines. He is the 2023 United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Pro of the Year for Iowa.
“The thing I am most proud of, is at each facility I’ve been able to build an incredible tennis community and family-feel with not only with my team of tennis professionals, but with competitive juniors and our loyal adult players,” he said. “My goal at each facility is to create an environment where people want to spend all their recreation time!”
Roeth was born in Dubuque, but has lived in Des Moines for most of his life. He played tennis at Central College in Pella and Drake University in Des Moines. He’s honored to have received the USPTA Pro of the Year award for Iowa, because he was nominated by his peers. He’s looking forward to his future, as tennis continues to grow in his local community.
“I am excited to see where my career takes me in the next few years as tennis is booming and my company (Genesis Health Clubs) continues to grow its footprint across the country,” he said. “We have an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact in our members' lives through tennis.”
When he’s not on the tennis court, Roeth enjoys working out and spending time with his wife, Katie, and daughters, Anna and Ally. Anna will graduate from Liberty University this spring and Ally is a freshman tennis player at Minnesota State University in Mankato.
