USTA Iowa Strategic Plan Highlights

Andrea Gallagher | April 03, 2023

USTA Iowa hopes to develop and promote the growth of tennis throughout the district with a first-time ever strategic plan. The multi-year plan partners with three strategic entities: Community Tennis Associations, tennis clubs, and Parks and Rec groups/schools/service organizations.

“The plan is designed to connect and support all three groups to grow tennis across the district,” said John Terpkosh, USTA Iowa Tennis Service Representative.

Goals within the Community Tennis Organizations include; strengthening finances, leadership and programs through grants, workshops and training. Goals with the tennis clubs include; increasing club commitment to USTA leagues, educational opportunities and solidifying relationships between the district and clubs. Lastly, goals with Parks and Rec groups and schools include; assisting with tennis equipment, facilities and training needs.

Annual district costs for the strategic plan are as follows:

CTA’s: $22,000

Clubs: $20,000

Parks & Rec/Schools: $10,000

Total: $52,000
