USTA Iowa to Host Quad Cities Regional All-Stars Tournament

May is National Tennis Month so USTA Iowa, the Quad City Tennis Club and RespectAbilities are holding the Quad Cities Regional All Stars Tournament on Thursday, May 12 at the Quad City Tennis Club at 1522 47th Avenue. Check-in is at 9 a.m. and play begins at 9:30 a.m. The event is free for participants. 

 

Tournament information:

 

 Divisions:
  • Red skill players (2.0-2.9*), singles
  • Orange skill players (3.0-3.9*) singles.
  • Using the Special Olympics rating, same as for the Summer Games.

 

Format: Round Robin Brackets
  • Red Skill Player - 20 minute timed/4 game short set
  • Orange Skill Player - 25 minute timed/4 game short set
  • No Ad Scoring
  • Court monitors on all courts.                          

 

There will be a free lunch for all players and coaches from 12 – 12:40 p.m. The medal ceremony will start at 4:20 p.m. and wrap up by 5 p.m. Every athlete will receive a medal based on bracket game totals. There is limited seating, so plan on bringing a folding chair, as well as a water bottle for the athletes.
