Kansas Team Takes USTA Missouri Valley Section Championships

Julie McQueeny | August 24, 2021

The big news of the day is the Seitz/Jones 18 & Over 3.5 men’s team out of USTA Kansas is on their way to the USTA Adult League National Championships! The team won the USTA Missouri Valley Section Championships in Oklahoma City on August 19-22.

The beauty of this team is that they are two cities that combined forces to create one amazing team! Wichita & Topeka have a long standing rivalry, but these guys decided to put everything aside and get down to business - a quest for a Section championship - and now a National championship.

It was a long, tough, hot weekend at Section Championships but this team overcame the elements and injury. They won it all! This team is definitely in it to win it. Good luck at the USTA Adult League National Championships, taking place October 1-3 in Surprise, Arizona.

The USTA Missouri Valley Adult 40 & Over Section Championships is being hosted by USTA Kansas in Topeka at Kossover Tennis Center on August 26-29. Some really great teams will be representing USTA Kansas - and all of USTA Missouri Valley. These teams are definitely prepared to be in the running for USTA Adult League National Championships.

“We've had some minor setbacks with facility construction,” said Amy Mathew, USTA Kansas League Coordinator. However, with the wonderful assistance of the Topeka Tennis Association, they have been able to overcome some of the obstacles and continue to plan an amazing event “We're looking forward to seeing everyone out there.”
