Andrea Gallagher | January 26, 2022

Mike Willman of Fremont is the new USTA Nebraska President. The Columbus native has been playing tennis for more than 50 years, and has been active in the USTA for 30 years. He looks forward to his new role, and hopes to make some changes in the next couple years.

“I want to grow the game and get more people involved in tennis, playing, officiating, tournaments, etc.” he said. “I want to provide more junior programs and work with Community Tennis Association’s to explore USTA grants to improve local facilities.”

Willman is rated 4.0 and plays on and captains a number of USTA teams. When he’s not playing tennis, he also enjoys snowmobiling, skiing, hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. He works in sales and technical service at Grace Construction Products. He has two daughters and five grandchildren.
