LaFortune Park Tennis Center to host fundraiser featuring former pro players
LaFortune Park Tennis Center is set to host a fundraising event, LaFortune Legends, on May 2-3. The fundraiser includes the opportunity to watch former pro players in action while benefiting local nonprofit First Serve Tulsa.
The two-day event features some accomplished retired ATP professionals—John Isner, Steve Johnson and David Martin. This will be an unforgettable experience including exhibition matches and chances to meet the legends of the sport.
“We are thrilled to host LaFortune Legends in support of First Serve Tulsa,” said Melissa McCorkle, director of tennis at Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park, which is a USTA Premier Facility. “First Serve Tulsa is such an impactful organization in our community that ensures that tennis is available to everyone.”
First Serve Tulsa is a nonprofit organization committed to providing low-cost or no-cost tennis programs to youth and adults in the Tulsa area. As part of the National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) network, First Serve Tulsa develops leadership, life skills and academic success in addition to athletic success among its participants.
Through initiatives like spring break camps, summer sessions and after-school activities, First Serve Tulsa ensures tennis is available to everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation. First Serve Tulsa's programming includes the League of Exceptional Players, wheelchair tennis and elementary to high school training.
