2024 USTA St. Louis Awards Celebration Dinner

Josh Sellmeyer | December 02, 2024

Hundreds of individuals attended the 2024 USTA St. Louis Awards Celebration Dinner, an evening that recognized excellence on and off the tennis court. More than 30 awards were handed out during the celebration, which took place Nov. 16 at LiUNA Event Center in St. Louis.

Player, provider and leadership awards were doled out. Mary Buschmann, USTA Missouri Valley CEO and executive director, was the master of ceremonies while Megan Kovacs, USTA St. Louis executive director, ran a slideshow displaying photos and information about the award recipients.

Scott Stinson, East St. Louis Community Tennis Association president, was surprised with the President’s Award at the end of the festivities. Stinson had earlier received an award alongside Kimberly Y. Hughes Gill for Outstanding Diversity Achievement.

Each award winner had the opportunity to give a short speech, and speeches from the 10 junior sportsmanship award recipients were highlights of the night.

When award winners were introduced before going on stage, Buschmann noted whether they had also earned a USTA Missouri Valley award. An impressive eight USTA St. Louis award winners have likewise been selected for the corresponding USTA Missouri Valley award. These individuals will be honored at the 2024 USTA Missouri Valley Annual Conference, which occurs Dec. 5-7 in Overland Park, Kan.
