Get in the Game: Adult Cat. I Tournaments
Looking for your next great match? Then look no further than USTA Category I Adult National Championships.
The USTA Category I Adult National Championships are tournaments held for adult players of all ages. Category I tournaments are offered for adults aged 30 all the way up to 90 years of age. These tournaments offer competitive matches on clay, hard, grass and indoor hard surfaces, and offer competition in singles doubles, mixed doubles and family categories. Winners of these tournaments walk away with a coveted gold ball trophy.
“I would say that these Cat 1 tournaments provide numerous opportunities that are hard to find elsewhere,” says Matt Hane of Richmond, Virg. “First is simply the ability to compete with your peers at the highest level and there's a sense of pride when you're able to do well in them. I'm sure we all share this but I've always loved competition in any form and these tournaments provide a great avenue to test yourself against other like-minded people.”
Category 1 tournaments offer an elite level of competition that many cannot access at their local tennis club. You can play against the best players in the country, and hone your on-court skills against the toughest competition out there. And while on the court you may be opponents, camaraderie and life-long friendships are built off the court at these tournaments.
“The game contributes to one’s good health, good state of mind, challenges, but best of all to life-long friendships that never would be made if not for Cat 1 tournaments,” says Brenda Carter of Charleston, SC.
Best of all, these Category I tournaments are held all over the continental U.S., in great American tennis destinations. From Naples, Fla., Denver, New Orleans and beyond, USTA Category I Adult National Championships are held in bustling cities and incredible tourist destinations nationwide. Get your tennis, and tourist on at any of these events.
