Palm Beach Gardens to host 2025 ITF Masters World Championships

June 05, 2024

The United States will serve as a host for the 2025 International Tennis Federation (ITF) Masters World Championships, alongside Turkey, Portugal and Croatia. Each nation will host selected age groups for next year’s World Team Championships from  30+ to 85+, and the World Individual Championships from 30+ through to 90+.

In May 2025, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, will be the home of the 60-, 65-, 70-and-over World Team Championships and World Individual Championships, after the success of the 50-, 55-, 60-and-over  World Team and Individual Championships in 2022.

The ITF Masters Committee has chosen to continue the 2024 approach of awarding four countries hosting rights for the equivalent of the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup competitions for athletes of varying ages.

Playing in four nations helps alleviate court pressures, enables more host applications, and allows for a better rotation of age groups across various locations.

This four-host model is a strategy to provide more playing opportunities for players in different countries. The number of entrants in most World Championships has increased in recent years, resulting in greater overall court requirements for hosts, such as the introduction of the 30+ World Team Championships in 2023, which is set to feature 12 women’s teams and 17 men’s teams in August 2024.

ITF President David Haggerty said, “At the core of the ITF’s vision for the Masters Tour is a  dedication to making tennis the world’s most participated sport for those aged 30 and over. Through  the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour, we open pathways for our tennis enthusiasts to not only indulge  in their passion for competitive tennis but also embrace the invaluable bonds of community,  friendship, and well-being it fosters. We also know that tennis provides unique physical health  benefits for players of all ages, and the Masters Tour gives players of all ages the chance to  experience that. Long term, we aim to expand the Tour by hosting events in distinctive destinations.

“The World Championships exemplify the unmatched spectacle and camaraderie of the tour, with  players from around the world competing spiritedly for their nations. As the pinnacle of the ITF  Masters Tour, the World Championships have been proven to inspire greater participation across all  our events. Beyond the competition, the World Team and Individual Championships offer host cities  unparalleled opportunities for global recognition and significant economic benefits.”
