Power of Her Scholarship
Power of Her Scholarship
We are excited to support our women tennis coaches by announcing a new scholarship opportunity!
The reality: women in tennis coaching are making strides, but there is still more work to be done. USTA New England is ahead of the curve, with 44% of its seasonal coaches being women. However, women make up only 39.4% of head coaches of women's collegiate tennis teams and just 25% of all certified teaching professionals nationwide.
Despite strong female participation in the sport, systemic barriers—including inequitable compensation, lack of mentorship, exclusion from elite coaching roles, and limited access to professional development—continue to hinder progress.
The Power of Her Scholarship is designed to invest in women at all coaching levels—from high school seniors aspiring to coach to current professionals—by providing financial assistance for training, certification, and career development.
This scholarship is part of a much bigger initiative to support women in tennis. We will release more details in the coming months.
