What does receiving this award mean to you?

"Outside of my wife, family and close friends tennis has been the love of my life. It has brought me enormous joy and fond memories. It is the venue to which I have been able to create lifelong best friends who have become a huge part of my life. In recent years, through my opportunity to coach my teams, it has given me the platform to dedicate my time toward organizing and leading a great group of friends in competitive tennis."

Presented at the 2024 Awards Luncheon at the Omni Las Colinas Hotel in Irving on Saturday, Feb. 10th:

One of the many benefits of tennis is its ability to create community. But that doesn’t just happen on its own… It's because of the passion and hard work of leaders like Steve Kemp of Dallas.

Being a tennis captain can be a thankless job. It involves organizing practices, setting pairings, talking strategy — all things that Steve excels at. He has led many senior League teams through competition locally, across Texas, and onto Nationals.

And across the board, his players all say the same thing: Steve is a great captain, leader, and friend.
