DESCRIPTION

Established in 1997, this award honors a senior member of the USTA Texas who had made a contribution through his/her efforts, willingness, cooperation and participation, most deserving of the respect and honor of the seniors, either in play and/or organizational work for the betterment and furtherance of senior activities. 

 

WHAT

The USTA Texas continues the tradition of the United States Tennis Association by honoring persons for outstanding fieldwork in community tennis by presenting its prestigious and annual Julius Zinn Seniors’ Service Award at the Annual Awards Banquet held during the Annual Meeting.  The winner of this award automatically becomes a candidate for the USTA Seniors’ Service Award.

 

CRITERIA

The nominee must be a resident of the USTA Texas actively involved in Senior tennis activities.  Nominators cannot be members of the candidate’s immediate family. ADVERTISEMENT Among the criteria to consider are:

 

·      Period of time active in Senior tennis

·      Service in a senior program or activity

·      Displays fair play and good sportsmanship

·      Demonstrates a willingness to promote the game of tennis

·      Impact of that service or activity in the community, section or at the national level

·      Supporting documentation, e.g. press release, brochure, pamphlets, etc

·      Evidence of support from local, state, regional or national associations

 

AWARD

Award is presented to the recipient at the Awards Banquet during the USTA Texas Annual Meeting.

The deadline for 2018 has passed. Please come back for the 2019 application.
