WINT FILIPEK SR. TORNEO MEMORIAL DE TENIS DONA $ 25 , 000 A LA ASOCIACIÓN DE TENIS DE EE. UU. DE NUEVA INGLATERRA

 

NORTH HAVEN, CT - La Asociación de Tenis de EE. UU. De Nueva Inglaterra (USTA New England) ha aceptado gentilmente una 25 , 000 del Torneo de Tenis Wint Filipek Sr. Memorial. Una parte del dinero se destinará al crecimiento del tenis en Connecticut, mientras que el resto se utilizará para promover el deporte en toda Nueva Inglaterra. 

 

“Nuestro torneo se trata de promover el crecimiento del tenis y sabemos que esa también es la misión de la USTA New England. Hemos tenido una gran relación con USTA New England a lo largo de los años y pensamos que esta sería la oportunidad perfecta para retribuir ”, dijo el creador y director del torneo, Wint Filipek Jr.

 

El Torneo comenzó en 2005 para honrar la vida y el legado de Winton (Wint) Filipek Sr., quien jugó tenis durante 60 año y fue campeón de la ciudad de Meriden, CT. Después de una pausa de dos años, el torneo regresará en 2021 y se jugará del 12 17 de junio en el Ridge Top Club en North Haven. 

 

Actualmente en su 16 año XX, el torneo ha recaudado y donado cerca de $ 200 , 000 a la comunidad local. 

 

Este año, todas las ganancias del torneo se destinarán a la Alzheimer ' s Association of Connecticut . El Ridge Top Club también está donando todas las cuotas del torneo a la organización. 

 

“Wint y su familia han hecho un trabajo increíble al reunir a la comunidad del tenis para este torneo anual. Lo que hacen y cómo se preocupan por su comunidad es inspirador. Somos afortunados de tener este torneo en nuestro patio trasero y continuaremos apoyándolo como podamos ”, dijo Matt Olson, Director Ejecutivo & COO de USTA New England.
