Middle States Job Opportunities:
Local League Coordinator (LLC) - Central Pennsylvania District
PART-TIME / HYBRID
OVERVIEW: The Local League Coordinator (LLC) coordinates USTA League Tennis activities within the USTA MS Central Pennsylvania District (CPD). The person in this position works 10-12 hours per week to increase participation in league tennis by servicing current programs while promoting and developing other various league programs. This individual should establish strong relationships within the local community with tennis and non-tennis facilities, organizations, and volunteers, while assisting other league coordinators, as assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist CPD Area League Coordinator in various duties relating to USTA League tennis in CPD
- Coordinate and develop play in the State College, Pa. area – organizing local leagues and communicating actively with players and captains
- Contribute to the preparation of team registration forms
- Prepare presentations and plans for Captains Meetings
- Communicate team numbers, meeting notes, district rules, and other relevant info to share with captains prior to each USTA League season
- Assist in preparation of district calendar, local league and championship scheduling
- Prepare Captains Appreciation event(s)
- Serve as tournament staff member at CPD District Championships (5-7 weekends)
- Serve as tournament staff member for various MS Sectional Championships (2-4 weekends)
- Provide information to prospective players looking to play on teams in CPD
- Represent USTA MS by attending and/or assisting in workshops, events or meetings
- Submit updated goals and activity reports to the Manager of Adult Leagues as required
- Serve as a liaison to the assigned district council and USTA MS Community team member
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational, administrative and management skills required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Customer service skills and the ability to work with and oversee volunteers.
- Computer experience, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Google.
- High energy and enthusiasm.
- Knowledge of the USTA MS league program, and tennis background preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the USTA MS programming team.
- College degree preferred but not required.
