Become a USTA Midwest Section Volunteer

If you’re looking for a fun and rewarding way to give back to the sport, consider becoming a volunteer!  Mirroring the USTA national structure, the Midwest Section is a volunteer-driven organization with various committees working closely with paid staff to provide support and resources to junior and adult programs and initiatives.

Please consider how you can apply your skills and tennis background in a volunteer role and help the association fulfill its mission of growing and servicing the game!

APPLY FOR USTA MIDWEST COMMITTEE POSITIONS FOR 2018-2019 TERM

Thank you for you interest in learning more about volunteering to serve on a USTA Midwest committee during the upcoming two-year term in 2018 and 2019. Individuals may apply for consideration for a USTA Midwest committee appointment using the USTA Midwest Committee Appointment Process (CAP) online application system by CLICKING HERE from August 7 – September 20. The committee structure is not necessarily identical from term to term, but there are roughly 15 committees, ranging from Adult Leagues to Junior Recreation to Diversity.

It is not required to be a USTA Midwest volunteer prior to serving on a Midwest committee although a current USTA membership is a requirement. However, many USTA Midwest volunteers have participated in their local communities or District before serving at the USTA Midwest level. All applications are considered and the USTA Midwest Section Advisory Group on Committees works with the USTA Midwest President Elect to facilitate the committee appointment process. Final volunteer selection assignments will be made in November 2017 prior to the start of the new term which starts in January 2018.

Please read our answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about CAPS, and other questions may be directed to our USTA/Midwest Advisory Group on Committees Chair Tom Patterson at tennis773@aol.com or USTA/Midwest Advisory Group on Committees Staff Kathy Dalla Costa at kathy@midwest.usta.com.
