Captain of the Year: Rudd McGarity

“Thank you so much for the honor of the award. Personally winning this award is confirmation that my passion for helping players grow on and off the court is recognized by others. My favorite part is hearing teammates thank me for helping make the USTA experience even better year after year. This year marks my 20th year of Captaining, and the experience consistently gets more and more enjoyable. This local tennis community is beyond supportive and makes the experience absolutely incredible. Cheers to the last 20 years, and bigger cheers to the next 20.”

 

Sportsmanship Award: Kenny Wong

“USTA tennis matches are naturally competitive and things can get heated quickly. This award means that my teammates and I are recognized for treating our opponents with consistent fairness and respect despite the competitive nature making it easy to do otherwise. The USTA PNW community is amazing. USTA allows me to meet so many unique people through tennis as a common hobby. My teammates are essentially my second family.”
