EXCITING NEWS!
We now have a new USTA NorCal website—visit ustanorcal.com to explore the refreshed site. Most information will move there in the future as we reorganize this site. Feel free to look around, and if you have any questions, reach out to us at marketing@norcal.usta.com. We’d love to hear from you!
USTA NorCal’s Player Development program aims to guide junior players through a comprehensive pathway that ranges from entry-level tennis to collegiate and professional tennis. In addition to Player Development opportunities on a national level, USTA NorCal provides training opportunities through Team NorCal workout events, Early Development Camps (EDC), coaches workshops and a wealth of dedicated resources. The ultimate goal is to empower players, parents and coaches to succeed at every pivotal step of the tennis journey.
Players:
- Team NorCal workouts are a sectional training program for our top junior players, hosted for three age divisions: 10 & Under (yellow ball), 14 & Under, and 18 & Under. Workouts feature top NorCal coaches, encouraging collaboration and a high level of instruction. The 10 & Under group will be selected based on age and their ranking on the National Standings List (NSL). The 14 & Under and 18 & Under groups will be selected based on singles WTN. Players will be selected and invited directly from the NSL/WTN list.
Coaches:
- Each Team NorCal workout features our top NorCal coaches, with one lead coach and up to five working coaches. If you are interested in coaching at a Team NorCal Workout, you can submit a coaching application for 2024 at this link.

Players:
- Early Development Camps (EDCs) recruit and retain our most promising Net Generation athletes ages 7-10, while also providing a Junior Circuit for matchplay. The program is designed to provide an opportunity for the highest level of promising young players to get to know each other and train together in a controlled environment with very specific goals for Orange and Green Ball. The themes of training include: Becoming an Expert Rallyer, Defending the Court, Net Dominator, Taking Control of the Point, The All Court Player and Becoming an Offensive Player.
Coaches:
Each EDC has one lead coach and up to six working coaches. Coaches and players are required to be available for all three camps in the series. If you are interested in coaching at this year’s EDCs, you can submit a coaching application for 2024 at this link.

Players:
- USTA Sectional Camps are part of the National Player Development pathway for players ages 11-13. In NorCal, we offer two USTA Sectional Camps for 24 players from the NorCal section invited based on birth year, National Rank, WTN rating, and Coaches Commission selection. There will be one camp in the spring and one in the fall. National Camp opportunities are by invitation only, selected by the National Coaches and staff based on participation at the Sectional Camps, among other factors.
Coaches:
- USTA National Player Development staff make all final coach selections for USTA Sectional Camps, but Sections may provide coach recommendations. If you are interested in coaching at this year’s USTA Sectional Camps, you can submit a coaching application for 2024 at this link.
