Thirteen champions of grassroots tennis honored with 2025 USTA national awards

Thirteen advocates for the sport of tennis at the grassroots and local levels were honored with national awards at the 2025 USTA Annual Meeting and Conference in Carlsbad, Calif.

 

The USTA presented the following awards: Adaptive Tennis Award, Barbara Williams Service Award, Brad Parks Award, Eve Kraft Community Service Award, USTA Family of the Year, Janet Louer JTT Organizer of the Year, League Volunteer Award, Member Organization of the Year, NJTL of the Year Award, NJTL Founders’ Service Award, Senior Service Award and two Volunteer Exceptional Service Awards.

Adaptive Tennis Award: Waco Tennis Association (Waco, Texas)

Barbara Williams Award: Bonnie Vandegrift (Asheville, N.C.)

Brad Parks Award: Lynn Bender (Zeeland, Mich.)

Eve Kraft Community Service Award: Scott Hanover (Gladstone, Mo.)

Family of the Year: The Wheaton Family (Excelsior, Minn.)

Janet Louer JTT Organizer of the Year: Mark Robbins (Smithville, Miss.)

League Volunteer Award: Helen Bohlen Jeter* (Greer, S.C.)

Member Organization of the Year Award: Dallas Tennis (Dallas)

NJTL Founders’ Service Award: Richard and Eleanor Brenner* (First Serve, Santa Fe, N.M.)

NJTL of the Year Award: MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation (Jacksonville, Fla.)

Senior Service Award: Sue Bramlette (Bluffton, S.C.)

Volunteer Exceptional Service Award: Rex Maynard (Belton, S.C.) and Robin Jones (Cary, N.C.)
