Top juniors Emma Shelton (18, Gainesville, Fla.) and Logan Zapp (18, Fleming Island, Fla.) won the USTA National Winter Championships Girls’ and Boys’ 18s singles titles on Friday, headlining the American juniors to win trophies at the USTA National Winter Championships over the past week.

The National Winter Championships were played at the USTA National Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla., (18s and 16s divisions) and the Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz., (14s and 12s divisions) consisting of 128 singles players and 64 doubles teams across all age groups.

Zapp added another title to his resume, as the No. 1 seed claimed the boys’ 18s singles title. A semifinalist at last year’s event, the Florida native took down Ben Shelton (17, Gainesville, Fla.), 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 in the final. Meanwhile, Ben’s older sister, Emma, defeated the No.1 seed, Sarah Hamner of Fort Collins, Colo., 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, in the girls’ 18s single final to earn her first USTA national title.
