PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BELOW, there have been changes to protocols, procedures and formats. October tournament registration will open on September 21 at 12:01am* A similar process will take place for tournaments occurring in future months and will be updated on a month by month basis. The next update will come no later than October 22. Here are the changes made to accommodate players.

*SCMZ Tier 2 A Draw, CMZ (Oct 10-11) and Challenger Tournaments.  SCMZ Tier 3 A Draw will open registration September 29 and SCMZ Tier 3 B Draw will open registration on October 6. CMZ (OCT 17-18) will open registration October 6.

 

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Players must complete a SEPARATE Waiver for every Tournament they participate in.

 

The Waiver MUST be completed prior to the tournament closing registration. Players that fail to complete and submit a Waiver will be deemed INELIGIBLE for the tournament and will be REMOVED. ADVERTISEMENT Please follow the link above to complete and submit the form.

Texas Junior Competitive Format for October 2020

 

 

SCMZ

 

IMPORTANT – In October SCMZ players may play in 2 tournaments with 1 of them being the Tier 2 A Draws on October 3-5. 

Example a player may:

  • Play the Tier 2 on Oct 3-5 and the Tier 3 A draw on Oct 10-12
  • Play the Tier 2 on Oct 3-5 and the Tier 3 B draw on Oct 17-18
  • Not allowed to play Tier 3 A draw on Oct 10-12 and the Tier 3 B draw on Oct 17-18

 

Tier 2 A Draws (Oct. 3-5)

  • Size: Tournaments are limited to 256 players due to COVID-19 local restrictions and court availability
  • Type: Singles only to support the recommended 6 foot spacing between players
  • Draw Format: 1 draw per age group of 64 players each. Feed In Consolation (FIC) thru the round of 16.
  • Scoring: All matches will be a 10-point tiebreak for the 3rd set.
  • Player Selection: Players will be selected based on the Texas Standing List and it is a Closed event (Texas Residents Only). For Texas ranking points Tier 2 A draw points apply. SCMZ tournament registration will open on Monday, September 21 at 12:01am.

Note: No late entries will be accepted.

 

Tier 3 A Draws (Oct. 10-12)

  • Size: Tournaments are limited to 256 players due to COVID-19 local restrictions and court availability
  • Type: Singles only to support the recommended 6 foot spacing between players

  • Draw Format: 1 draw per age group of 32 players each. Feed In Consolation (FIC) thru the round of 16.
  • Scoring: All matches will be a 10-point tiebreak for the 3rd set.
  • Player Selection: Players will be selected based on the order in which their entry is completed and received (first come, first served) and it is a Closed event (Texas Residents Only). Example: first 32 players to complete registration in the girls 12 and under are in the tournament. Seeding for all players will be based on Texas Standing List. For Texas ranking points Tier 3 B draw points apply. SCMZ tournament registration will open on Tuesday, October 6 at 12:01am.

Note: No late entries will be accepted.

  • Size: Tournaments are limited to 256 players due to COVID-19 local restrictions and court availability
  • Type: Singles with First Match Loser Consolation (FMLC)
  • Draw Format: 1 draw per age group of 32 players each
  • Scoring: All matches will be a 10-point tiebreak for the 3rd set.
  • Player Selection: Players will be selected based on the order in which their entry is completed and received (first come, first served). Example: first 32 players to complete registration in the girls 12 and under are in. CMZ tournament registration will open on Monday, September 21 at 12:01am for the tournaments on October 10-11 and on Tuesday, October 6 at 12:01am for the tournaments on October 17-18.

Note: You will notice that your credit card will not be charged until the event registration has closed and the Player Selection process is completed. Champ players limited to play in only 1 CMZ tournament in the month. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL MAKE YOU INELIGIBLE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN ANY EVENTS DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER. No late entries will be accepted.

Challenger 2 Day (12-18’s) & 1 Day (10’s) / Challenger 1 Day (12-18’s) & Participation Credit 1 Day (10’s)

  • Size: Tournaments are limited to 150 players due to COVID-19 local restrictions and court availability
  • Type: Singles with First Match Loser Consolation (FMLC)
  • Draw Format: Draws can vary on size depending upon number of applicants per age group
  • Player Selection: The first 150 players to complete registration are in (first come, first served). This 150 is inclusive of 10 and Under players if 10 and Under event is scheduled to take place on the first day of the tournament.  If 10 and under is scheduled for the second day of the tournament there could be 150 players in 12-18’s and 150 players in 10 and under. Challenger tournament registration will open on Monday, September 21 at 12:01am.

Note: You will notice that your credit card will not be charged until the tournament registration has closed and the Player Selection process is completed. Challenger 10-18’s players limited to have an active registration in one Challenger at a time per weekend of competition (Example: Player registered for a Challenger on the 1st weekend cannot register for another Challenger on the 1st weekend in the month of October without withdrawing from the original Challenger). Challenger 12-18’s players can play in multiple Challenger tournaments in the month of October, Challenger 10 and under players can only play in 1 Challenger in the month of October. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL MAKE YOU INELIGIBLE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN ANY EVENTS DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER. No late entries will be accepted.

As you may have heard there are some changes being implemented in our Junior Competitive System.  To best prepare you for the changes we are hosting several virtual town hall meetings. Each meeting will be limited to the first 150 registrants.
