PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BELOW, there have been changes to protocols, procedures and formats. December tournament registration will open on November 23 at 12:01am* Here are the changes made to accommodate players.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Players must complete a SEPARATE Waiver for every Tournament they participate in.

Texas Junior Competitive Format for December 2020

 

SCMZ

IMPORTANT – IMPORTANT – In December SCMZ players may play in 1 tournament only but may register for multiple events.  Players will be selected by strength of Texas Standing or Order of Entry (please see below for specific tournament information).  During the process selected players that have applied for multiple events, they will be placed in the highest-rated/level of event they meet the selection requirements for.

Example:

Step 1 - Player applies for both Texas Tier 3 A draw and Texas Tier 3 B draw tournaments

Step 2 – Player meets the selection requirements for both Tier 3 A draw and Tier 3 B draw tournaments

Step 3 – Player is selected for Tier 3 A draw tournament which has a higher rating/level

Tier 3 A Draws (December 5-7 – Katy 12 & 16; Georgetown 14 & 18)

  • Size: Tournaments are limited to 256 players due to COVID-19 local restrictions and court availability
  • Type: Singles only to support the recommended 6 foot spacing between players
  • Draw Format: 1 draw per age group of 64 players each. Feed In Consolation (FIC) thru the round of 16.
  • Scoring: All matches will be a 10-point tiebreak for the 3rd set.
  • Schedule: Players may be required to play up to 3 singles matches in 1 day
  • Player Selection: Players will be selected based on the Texas Standing List and it is a Closed event (Texas Residents Only). For Texas ranking points Tier 3 A draw points apply. SCMZ tournament registration will open on Monday, November 23 at 12:01am.

Note: No late entries will be accepted.

 

Tier 3 B Draws (December 5-6 – DTA 14,16,18; TNT 16 & 18)

  • Size: Tournaments are limited to 32 players per age division due to COVID-19 local restrictions and court availability
  • Type: Singles only to support the recommended 6 foot spacing between players
  • Draw Format: 1 draw per age group of 32 players each. Feed In Consolation (FIC) thru the round of 16.
  • Scoring: All matches will be a 10-point tiebreak for the 3rd set.
  • Schedule: Players may be required to play up to 3 singles matches in 1 day
  • Player Selection: Players will be selected based on the order in which their entry is completed and received (first come, first served) and it is a Closed event (Texas Residents Only). Example: first 32 players to complete registration in the girls 12 and under are in the tournament. Seeding for all players will be based on Texas Standing List.   • Draw Format: 1 draw per age group of 32 players each
  • Scoring: All matches will be a 10-point tiebreak for the 3rd set.
  • Player Selection: Players will be selected based on the order in which their entry is completed and received (first come, first served). Example: first 32 players to complete registration in the girls 12 and under are in. CMZ tournament registration will open on Monday, November 23 at 12:01am for the tournament on December 5-6 and on Tuesday, December 1 at 12:01am for the tournaments on December 12-13.

Note: You will notice that your credit card will not be charged until the event registration has closed and the Player Selection process is completed. Champ players limited to play in only 1 CMZ tournament in the month. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL MAKE YOU INELIGIBLE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN ANY EVENTS DURING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER. No late entries will be accepted.

Challenger 2 Day (12-18’s) & 1 Day (10’s) / Challenger 1 Day (12-18’s) & Participation Credit 1 Day (10’s)

  • Size: Tournaments are limited to 150 players due to COVID-19 local restrictions and court availability
  • Type: Singles with First Match Loser Consolation (FMLC)
  • Draw Format: Draws can vary on size depending upon number of applicants per age group
  • Player Selection: The first 150 players to complete registration are in (first come, first served). This 150 is inclusive of 10 and Under players if 10 and Under event is scheduled to take place on the first day of the tournament.  If 10 and under is scheduled for the second day of the tournament there could be 150 players in 12-18’s and 150 players in 10 and under. Challenger tournament registration will open on Monday, November 23 at 12:01am.

Note: You will notice that your credit card will not be charged until the tournament registration has closed and the Player Selection process is completed. Challenger 10-18’s players limited to have an active registration in one Challenger at a time per weekend of competition (Example: Player registered for a Challenger on the 1st weekend cannot register for another Challenger on the 1st weekend in the month of December without withdrawing from the original Challenger). Challenger 12-18’s players can only play in 2 Challenger tournaments in the month of December, Challenger 10 and under players can only play in 1 Challenger in the month of December. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL MAKE YOU INELIGIBLE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN ANY EVENTS DURING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER. No late entries will be accepted.
