Regional Sportsmanship Award

Great sportsmanship makes our league stronger. The Sportsmanship Recognition Program celebrates players who go above and beyond to demonstrate integrity, respect, and fair play - both on and off the court. These are the players who elevate competition, inspire others, and make every match a better experience.

We invite you to recognize those individuals by submitting a nomination. At the end of the competition year, a random drawing will be held, and multiple winners from each region will be selected to receive a USTA-logo prize as a thank-you for representing the very best of our league.

Nomination Rules/Criteria
  • Players, captains, and teammates may submit nominations for players who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship at any time during the competition year.
  • Nominations will be accepted through September 30 of the competition year.
  • A random drawing will be conducted, and multiple winners from each Pacific Northwest (PNW) region will be selected to receive a USTA-logo prize. Winners will be notified in November.
  • Winners will be announced by League Coordinators, on social media, and on the USTA PNW Leagues page in December.
  • League Coordinators will contact winners to arrange a time and location for prize pickup.

2025 T-Shirt Design Winner: Justin Pae

"As a BIPOC artist, the goal of my design was to pay tribute to the unique art and rich cultural traditions of the peoples native to the Pacific Northwest. I was inspired by Northwest Coast art including the Kwakwaka'wakw tribe (which inspired the original Seahawks logo). I also tried to underscore the natural beauty of the region, depicting the mountains, the sea, and the sky ... while highlighting the eagle soaring above us and the salmon in the waters below."

"Tennis is a huge part of my life. What started as a casual hobby on my high school JV team has evolved into a full-on obsession. My wife and I play on club and USTA teams (we both made sectionals last year!). Additionally, all three of my kids participate in junior tennis programs and we occasionally travel to watch our favorite ATP and WTA players. We even got to play trivia with Frances Tiafoe at last year's Cincy Open."
