2024 USTA Texas Award Winners Announced

February 08, 2024

USTA Texas will celebrate thirteen individuals and organizations from across Texas that made a significant contribution to the sport of tennis in Texas on Saturday, Feb. 10 in Irving.

The honorees will be highlighted during the 2024 USTA Texas Awards Luncheon held at the USTA Texas Annual Meeting.

Chair of the USTA Texas Awards Committee, Sharon Chapple said there were more nominations this year than ever before.

“The selection committees have selected an outstanding Class of 2024 Award Winners,” she said. “Their contributions to growing tennis in Texas and serving their communities is truly remarkable; we congratulate them all!”

Notable changes this year include officially adding “lifetime” to the W.T. Caswell Award’s name, reflecting the significant, long-lasting impact its recipients have made to the game of tennis. Chapple said the W. T. Caswell Service Award is the most prestigious individual award that USTA Texas presents.

“The Awards Committee discussed, and unanimously voted, to change the name of this award to the W. T. Caswell Lifetime Service Award, [effective 2024],” she said. “All of the past winners have dedicated a lifetime of service to USTA Texas tennis and their local communities. In recognition of their contributions and years of service, we will be honoring our winners – past and future – with a special gold pin as a token of our appreciation. We hope these incredible volunteers will wear the pin with pride!”
